BEIJING, February 12 (People's Daily Online) - The Spring Festival is just around the corner. UK Minister Counsellor Andrew Key extends his wishes to the Chinese people as follows.

On the occasion of the New Year, Let's look back on what we achieved. Last year is a very fruitful year for the UK-China relations.

在新年到來(lái)的時(shí)候，讓我們回頭看看我們兩國(guó)的成就怎么樣。過(guò)去的一年，我們英中兩國(guó)關(guān)系的成果非常好。

Last June, UK Prime Minister David Cameron welcomed Chinese Premier Li Keqiang. UK Chancellor of the Exchequer met Chinese Vice Premier Ma Kai, and the financial and economic dialogue was held in London. UK Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt received warm welcome from Chinese vice Premier Liu Yandong, and attended the Sino-British high-level cultural and educational exchanges meeting in Beijing.

去年6月，英國(guó)首相戴維?卡梅倫歡迎了中國(guó)總理李克強(qiáng)到英國(guó)來(lái)；英國(guó)財(cái)政大臣接待了中國(guó)副總理馬凱，在倫敦召開(kāi)了我們的英中兩國(guó)的經(jīng)濟(jì)財(cái)政對(duì)話；英國(guó)衛(wèi)生大臣杰里米?亨特受到了中國(guó)副總理劉延?xùn)|的熱情招待，參加了在北京的中英高級(jí)別人文交流機(jī)制會(huì)議。

We have deepened the cooperation on global issues covering climate change and health. We also made further efforts to strengthen our partnership in scientific innovation and urbanization. Our bilateral exchanges have been strengthened in many areas. For example, bilateral trade and investment witnessed fast growth. More than 400,000 Chinese tourists went to the UK last year, and over 100,000 Chinese students are studying in colleges in the UK. In the field of culture, our top symphony orchestras exchanged visits, and Chinese artists performed in Edinburgh Arts Festival. In the Year of the Horse, we started a new project which will bring UK dance drama 'War Horse' to China.

通過(guò)這些交流，我們深化了我們?cè)谥饕騿?wèn)題的合作，比如說(shuō)在氣候變化和衛(wèi)生方面，我們也開(kāi)始了新的一些合作，比如說(shuō)在科技創(chuàng)新和城鎮(zhèn)化等方面。當(dāng)然我們的雙邊交流也在很多領(lǐng)域得到了加強(qiáng)，比如說(shuō)我們兩國(guó)間的貿(mào)易和投資有了快速增長(zhǎng)，在一年里有了40多萬(wàn)中國(guó)訪客到英國(guó)來(lái)，這比以前任何一年多的多，現(xiàn)在也有在英國(guó)也有10萬(wàn)多中國(guó)學(xué)生在英國(guó)的大學(xué)學(xué)習(xí), 我們也在鼓勵(lì)更多的英國(guó)學(xué)生到中國(guó)來(lái)。在文化方面，我們兩國(guó)的頂級(jí)交響樂(lè)團(tuán)進(jìn)行了互訪，中國(guó)的藝術(shù)家也參加了愛(ài)丁堡藝術(shù)節(jié)進(jìn)行表演，在馬年我們也啟動(dòng)了新的一個(gè)合作項(xiàng)目，將把英國(guó)的《戰(zhàn)馬》這部舞臺(tái)劇帶到中國(guó)。

Therefore we have a lot of things to celebrate last year and the New Year will be more exciting. The bilateral trade and investment will further grow. Our cooperation in addressing global challenges will be strengthened too. The bilateral relations will be further improved with the completion of the consulate in Wuhan.

所以呢在過(guò)去的一年有很多事情值得慶祝的，新的一年讓人更興奮。我們兩國(guó)間的貿(mào)易和投資會(huì)有近一步的增長(zhǎng)。我們?cè)趹?yīng)對(duì)全球挑戰(zhàn)方面的合作也會(huì)加強(qiáng)。隨著英國(guó)駐武漢的領(lǐng)事館的落成，我們兩國(guó)的雙邊關(guān)系也會(huì)得到加強(qiáng)。

Maybe the most exciting event is that Prince William will attend the Creative British Grand Ceremony in Shanghai, kicking off the 'Year of Sino-British cultural exchange'. 2015 is a landmark in our bilateral cooperation, because the peoples of the two countries will share the best culture of each other.

但是有可能令人最興奮的是劍橋公爵，那就是威廉王子將會(huì)出席上海舉辦的創(chuàng)意英倫盛典，他也會(huì)啟動(dòng)我們兩國(guó)的“英中文化交流年”。在羊年里，英國(guó)將會(huì)把最好的文化帶到中國(guó)。中國(guó)也會(huì)把最好的文化帶到英國(guó)。所以今年對(duì)于中英關(guān)系是非常有意義的一年。

At this time, the most important thing is that people can unite with their family and spend the Spring Festival together. I would like to wish all Chinese friends and partners a very happy and prosperous Year of the Sheep.
