
During the "twelfth five-year" period, Xiangyang's urban landscaping undertaking developed rapidly, over RMB3 billion was invested in landscaping, and all indicators were up to or above the standards of national garden cities (the green area ratio of the built-up areas, the green coverage ratio and the per-capita park green area reached 32.88%, 37.82% and 12.63 square meters respectively), laying a solid foundation for building a "national eco-garden city".
According to the plan, by 2020, Xiangyang's per-capita park green area, number of general parks per 10,000 people, 500-meter service radius of parks measuring over 5,000 square meters, green area ratio, green coverage ratio and road greening ratio will reach 13 square meters, 0.12, over 96%, 39%, 41% and 95% respectively.
