Recently the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology have released the first catalogue of national traditional crafts for revitalization. Xiangyang's Laohekou wood-block painting was included in the catalog.
Laohekou New Year wood-block painting flourished in the mid-Ming Dynasty. It features fine carving and exaggerated characters, highlighted by door god and is produced in workshops.
A total of 383 traditional crafts across the country were included in the first catalogue of national traditional crafts for revitalization.
