Chinese vice premier meets WMO president

BEIJING, Aug. 27 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice Premier Liu Guozhong met with Abdulla Al Mandous, president of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), on Wednesday in Beijing.
Liu, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said that China will continue strengthening cooperation with the WMO, and actively respond to and promote the United Nations' Early Warnings for All initiative. China will also support the WMO in playing an important role in global meteorological governance, and in making greater contributions to advancing the high-quality development of meteorological undertakings in developing countries.
Al Mandous spoke highly of China's achievements in the development of meteorological cause, and said that he looks forward to deepening exchange and cooperation in the field of meteorology with China.
