On sidelines of the APEC summit, President Xi Jinping met with Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos on Wednesday in Manila, the Philippines.
Xi pointed out that this year marks the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relationship between China and Colombia, and the two countries should turn their consensus into sustained cooperations in finance, infrastructure, manufacture, energy and agriculture.
Xi said that China and Colombia have great potential in developing trade and cultural exchanges, and said China is pleased to see the current peace process in Colombia. Santos concurred. He also expressed hope for China to play a more significant role in coordinating international and regional affairs.
